At Progress Mining we take after sales support very seriously and a big part of this is our Condition Monitoring Service. Every component sold is periodically monitored by trained technicians, the data gathered allows us to support and advise our customers, helping to extend the life of their parts. In late August this year one such Condition Monitoring inspection was carried out on a Hitachi© EX8000 hydraulic excavator located at a coal mine site in Central Queensland, Australia. In the 4 months since the initial installation in May, the machine has been in operation for approximately 2,000 hours. The inspection of the EX8000 showed the undercarriage components to be in very good condition despite working in the harsh environment of the coal mine.

This is the second platform at this site to have a Progress Mining undercarriage installed and the customer is very happy with the results thus far. Their fleet also includes multiple Liebherr© R996B platforms also fitted with Progress Mining undercarriages. This customer has had such great success operating these platforms in their mine, that they have recently ordered another complete undercarriage to be installed on one of their Liebherr© R9350 hydraulic excavator platform.
