COMING SOON – New Tensioning Cylinder to suit Hitachi® EX2600, EX3600, EX5600

We recently announced development of the idler yoke to suit Hitachi® EX2600, EX3600 & EX5600, as part of our commitment to expanding our product offering the team at Progress Mining has also developed the tensioning cylinder assembly for this platform.

The tensioning cylinder assembly is responsible for maintaining the correct track tension in the undercarriage assembly. It achieves this by applying force to the front idler, adjusting its position to compensate for track shoe pitch extension. The tensioner is also responsible for absorbing shock loads and allowing temporary idler retraction when required. This reduces the risk of damage to the track components.

Our engineering team is working on finalising the designs for the new tensioning cylinder assemblies and working with our factory to prepare for manufacturing. The first articles will be completed over the coming months and products will be available at the start of 2027.

This addition to our component range will give Progress Mining the ability to supply individual tensioning cylinders as required by the customer or complete tensioning systems inclusive of the idlers, yokes and tensioners. Our team also has future plans to develop tensioning cylinder assemblies for other platforms in our range.
